At the plate, Jackson Daves and Travis Louks did most of the damage at the plate: Daves went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Louks went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Louks has hit this season.
Alexandria-Monroe came out on top against Daleville on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Tigers blew past the Broncos 13-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Landyn Fletcher looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Alexandria-Monroe let Mason Fuller and Owen May run wild. Fuller got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while May went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Alexandria-Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Daleville only posted an OBP of .409.
Alexandria-Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Knightstown, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Knightstown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
