Basketball Recap: Mid-Moore Christian Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Mid-Moore Christian came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Temple Christian Watchmen to the tune of 63-33. Given the Tornados' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 218th in Oklahoma, while the Watchmen are ranked 1339th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mid-Moore Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Spivey led the charge by putting up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Moore, who posted 12 points.

Despite the loss, Temple Christian still got an impressive performance from Silas Riggins, who put up 12 points. That was a full 36.4% of Temple Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Mid-Moore Christian's record now sits at 12-2. As for Temple Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Mid-Moore Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-49 defeat against Grayson Christian on the 17th. As for Temple Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-29 win against Joshua Christian on the 17th.
