The Zanesville Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Watkins Memorial Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Zanesville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 81-40 win over Utica at home.
Zanesville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mikey Johnson, who scored 21 points, and Drew Doyle, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Rashaud Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists.
Meanwhile, even though KIPP Columbus scored an imposing 66 points on Thursday, Watkins Memorial still came out on top. Watkins Memorial secured a 71-66 W over KIPP Columbus.
Zanesville's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Watkins Memorial, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Zanesville skirted past Watkins Memorial 48-45 when the teams last played back in January. Will Zanesville repeat their success, or does Watkins Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
