The Milwaukee King Generals will take on the Germantown Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Milwaukee King comes in on three and Germantown on nine.
Milwaukee King is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Milwaukee Hamilton on Thursday as they made off with a 17-1 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Generals with their most commanding win of the season.
Owen Ketz made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ketz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
Milwaukee King always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milwaukee Hamilton only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Germantown got the win against Wauwatosa West on Thursday by a conclusive 7-1. The Warhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Germantown also got a great performance from Tye Cretens as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Cretens has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Grady Cheever and Jon Murkowski did most of the damage at the plate: Cheever went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Murkowski went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Cheever has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ty Olszewski, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Milwaukee King's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Germantown, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Milwaukee King has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .507. However, it's not like Germantown struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Milwaukee King skirted past Germantown 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
