Basketball Recap: Schuylkill Haven Takes a Loss

Schuylkill Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Schuylkill Haven lost, don't look at Max Heim. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Heim has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Watcher, who posted seven points.

Schuylkill Haven's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Schuylkill Haven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-54 defeat against Tri-Valley on the 9th. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-53 loss against Nativity BVM on the 9th.
