C East recap September 10, 2013
Waterville took down Camden Hills 62-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Panthers led C East in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on the Windjammers.
Madison/Carrabec's dynamic duo of Cody Soucier and Derek Leblanc proved to be unstoppable against Mount Desert Island, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Soucier threw for 76 yards and Leblanc had 40 yards receiving. Levi Murray helped Madison/Carrabec's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Soucier and Leblanc proved tough for the Trojans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Soucier put up the best numbers in passing as Madison/Carrabec lost to Mount Desert Island.
Leblanc was the best receiver in the league this week as Scott Franzose's team lost to the Trojans.
Cody Whitmore provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Old Town defeated Nokomis.
Whitmore was the best running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 133 yards as the Coyotes lost to Mount Desert Island. Braden Upshaw also contributed to the rushing game with 83 yards on the ground.
Leading C East in both passing and receiving yards, Madison/Carrabec's Soucier and Leblanc have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-8 quarterback Soucier has thrown for 76 yards this season, while Leblanc has 3 catches for 40 yards. Old Town's Whitmore leads the league in rushing yards with 133.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Foxcroft takes on Nick Arthers' team. At the moment, the Ponies are in fifth, while the Coyotes are in third.
Old Town made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,311 from 13,728. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 24-12 victory over the Warriors last week.
