The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls won the last time they faced the Devon Prep Tide, and things went their way on Friday too. Archbishop Ryan strolled past Devon Prep with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. Given Archbishop Ryan's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Devon Prep is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Archbishop Ryan was led to victory by Thomas Sorber and Darren Williams. Sorber dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Williams scored 17 points. Sorber hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Russell, who scored five points along with eight assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Devon Prep still got an impressive performance from Zane Conlon, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Conlon hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Archbishop Ryan now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Devon Prep, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Archbishop Ryan will head out on the road to challenge Lansdale Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lansdale Catholic is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Devon Prep will take on St. Joseph's Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. St. Joseph's Prep will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
