Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westlake walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Brandeis Broncos on Thursday as they made off with a 9-1 win. The Chaparrals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 26-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brandeis, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7-1.

Westlake will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Broncos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
