The Northland Pines Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 75-45 loss at the hands of Mosinee. While losing is never fun, Northland Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Mosinee is ranked 62nd).
Mosinee had a senior duo take command as Keagen Jirschele scored 22 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds and Landen Thomer dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jirschele pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Treve Stoffel, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Northland Pines dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mosinee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Northland Pines will head out on the road to face off against Bowler at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northland Pines is facing Bowler at the right time seeing as Bowler is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Mosinee, they will be playing at home against Tomahawk at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mosinee's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
