The Civic Leadership/AAE Eagles had already won two in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 44-33 win over Academy of Science and Innovation.
Maiara Rodriguez and Symber Ortiz-Sutton certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Rodriguez scored ten points along with three steals, while Ortiz-Sutton scored ten points along with five rebounds. Rodriguez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Civic Leadership/AAE pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
