The Union County Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Rushville. Union County lost against Rushville in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-40 score last time.
Rushville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gracie Buzzard out in front who scored 10 points.
Union County's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Rushville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will play host again and welcome Shenandoah, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shenandoah and Union County are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Rushville, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Indianapolis Bishop Chatard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
