Even though the Skyline Eagles scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Mountain View Bruins still came out on top. Mountain View took their match against Skyline 69-61. That's two games straight that Mountain View has won by exactly eight points.
Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Mella led the charge by scoring 24 points. The match was Mella's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Skyline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Mountain View will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Skyline and Brighton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
