Softball Game Preview: Windsor Yellowjackets vs. Thetford Academy Panthers

Windsor and Thetford Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Yellowjackets will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Windsor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Poultney, who was ranked sixth at the time (Windsor was ranked seventh). The Yellowjackets came up short against the Blue Devils on Monday, falling 17-8.

Hailey Pascarelli was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Anna Bergeron also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Thetford Academy fell victim to Oxbow and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 23-0 to the Olympians.

Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Thetford Academy, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Windsor suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Thetford Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
