Baseball Recap: Ridgecroft Wins Going Away Against Northeast Academy

After only one run in their last game, Ridgecroft made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northeast Academy on Friday. The Rams put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 19-5 win. Considering the Rams have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Williams made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Ridgecroft's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Williams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Javieon Lyles-Askew, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. Ridgecroft is undefeated when Lyles-Askew posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Dawson Collins was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Ridgecroft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ridgecroft's record now sits at 8-6. As for Northeast Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Ridgecroft will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pungo Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th. Northeast Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
