In what's become a running theme this season, the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-14 victory over Palmetto at home. Given Charlotte's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Palmetto is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palmetto's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aliyah Parker, who scored four points, and Solaura Glover who scored no points.
Charlotte pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27 points. As for Palmetto, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte will square off against Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmetto, they will head out on the road to challenge Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
