Africentric Early College extended their home winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jeniya Bowers. The Nubians had just enough and edged out the Newark Wildcats 49-47 thanks in part to Bowers, who posted 21 points. Her big performance that afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Africentric Early College's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Newark, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Africentric Early College will host South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark, they will venture away from home to face off against Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
