Merritt Island (Fla.) snapped the four-game winning streak of
Oviedo (Fla.), with a 21-3 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Jon-el Battle in the second quarter, the Mustangs led 7-3 at the half.
Merritt Island expanded its lead to 11 points entering the fourth quarter. MI's lone score in the quarter came on a
Nick Smith touchdown run.
With the win the Mustangs extended their winning streak to five games. Merritt Island defeated Astronaut 24-20 last week.
The defeat comes as a step back for Oviedo, who notched a 42-14 victory over Hagerty in its previous outing.
