The Hickman Kewpies will be home for the holidays to greet the Southern Boone Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Southern Boone likes a good challenge.
Hickman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season. They breezed by Marquette at home to the tune of 73-43. Given Hickman's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Marquette is ranked 79th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southern Boone's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Southern Boone and Eldon wasn't particularly close, with Southern Boone falling 69-51.
Hickman's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Southern Boone, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-11 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Hickman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southern Boone in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory. Will Hickman repeat their success, or does Southern Boone have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
