The Rochester Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rochester 3.8, Grosse Pointe South 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rochester's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Mott with a sharp 14-0 victory. That looming 14-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.
Joshua Francek made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Rochester got a massive performance out of Dominic Gadlage, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Gadlage a new career-high. Jake Norton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Rochester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe South faced Brother Rice in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Blue Devils' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Grosse Pointe South also got a good showing from Jack Danielewicz, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Danielewicz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Grosse Pointe South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Michelotti (James), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Rochester has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Grosse Pointe South, their defeat dropped their record down to 29-6.
