Softball Recap: Nimitz Find Success

Nimitz won the last time they faced MacArthur and things went their way on Friday too. Nimitz walked away with a 23-19 victory over MacArthur. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Nimitz let Olivia Valdelamar and Dani Maloney run wild. Valdelamar went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one double, while Maloney scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those seven RBI gave Valdelamar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jashylynn De La Torre, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Nimitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Nimitz's record now sits at 3-10. As for MacArthur, they dropped their record down to 1-10-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nimitz will challenge rival Richardson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, MacArthur is set to square off against their familiar foe Berkner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
