This season hasn't been kind to the Heritage Timberwolves, who are still winless after their fifth contest. The New Year welcomed they with a 70-30 whooping from Mountain View on Friday. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Mountain View is ranked 50th).
Nina Peterson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for Mountain View. Mylee Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Heritage's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to face off against Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
