Alvin is on a three-game streak of home losses, Alief Elsik a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Alvin Yellowjackets will take on the Alief Elsik Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alvin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Alvin fell victim to Shadow Creek's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 53-0 loss at the hands of the Sharks. While losing is never fun, Alvin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 776th, while Shadow Creek is ranked 86th).
Meanwhile, Alief Elsik lost to Alief Hastings at home by a decisive 40-24 margin on Friday.
The losses dropped Alvin to 2-5 and Alief Elsik to 3-4.
Alvin skirted past Alief Elsik 29-26 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Alvin repeat their success, or does Alief Elsik have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
