Snohomish is a perfect 7-0 against Mountlake Terrace since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Mountlake Terrace took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Snohomish, who comes in off a win.
Snohomish came out on top against Stanwood on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won five games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Edwards made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Emery Post was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amelie Lopez, who went 1-for-4 with three runs.
Snohomish was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanwood only posted a batting average of .000.
Cascade hit Mountlake Terrace with a seven-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks lost 10-0 to the Bruins. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.
Mountlake Terrace saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Stokes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Snohomish and bumps their season record up to 9-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Mountlake Terrace, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Snohomish has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mountlake Terrace struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Snohomish's way against Mountlake Terrace in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Snohomish made off with a 14-1 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
