There's no place like home for The Christian Heritage Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Asheville Christian Academy 48-33 on Friday. The win was just what Christian Heritage needed coming off of a 48-17 loss in their prior matchup.
Carter Triplett was a one-man wrecking crew for Christian Heritage as he threw for 267 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 140 yards on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Thailan Christopher, who rushed for 107 yards on only 13 carries.
When it comes to explaining why Asheville Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javier Rice. Despite the final result, he threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Roth, who picked up 42 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Christian Heritage's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Christian Heritage will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Zion is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. SouthLake Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
