Nativity BVM and Williams Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Green Wave will challenge the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nativity BVM has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Williams Valley will come in with six straight victories.
On Saturday, Nativity BVM didn't have quite enough to beat North Schuylkill and fell 2-1.
Nativity BVM saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MARC LUTZKANIN, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was LUTZKANIN's first of the season.
While Williams Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Upper Dauphin Area 14-2 on Monday. Considering the Vikings have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Camden Berger made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Berger was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Fletcher Thompson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cayden Witmer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Williams Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Dauphin Area only posted an OBP of .348.
Williams Valley's record now sits at 7-1. As for Nativity BVM, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nativity BVM has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Williams Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Nativity BVM came out on top in a nail-biter against Williams Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Green Wave repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
