South Central had won three straight road games and Dylan Sanchez did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Satellites blew past Tri-Township 3-0 with plenty of help from Sanchez, who had 14 digs and three aces. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant South Central was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-6, 25-11.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boone Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Westville on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won six in a row.
One reason for the win was Boone Grove's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-9.
South Central better focus on containing Max Pollnow and Ryder McCoy as the pair were huge in Boone Grove's win. Pollnow had four digs and two aces, while McCoy had 17 digs. That's the most digs McCoy has posted over his last six contests.
South Central's record is now 10-3. As for Boone Grove, their record now sits at an identical 10-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: South Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Boone Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
