When it comes to explaining why Alpine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ali Maroney. Despite the final result, she scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Alpine were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Alpine's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Happy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
