Ayden - Grifton extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 8-11 in the process. As for D.H. Conley, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.
On D.H. Conley's side, Kendall Howard made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Howard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Lena Zurface was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
