After four games on the road, Everglades is heading back home. They will take on the Plantation Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Everglades comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Everglades suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Cardinal Gibbons 66-7. While losing is never fun, Everglades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while Cardinal Gibbons is ranked 40th).
Meanwhile, Plantation's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-14 loss at the hands of McArthur.
Everglades' defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Plantation, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Everglades against Plantation in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 55-4 win. With Everglades ahead 34-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
