The Providence Panthers have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They put the hurt on Cuthbertson with a sharp 57-32 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Providence also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Leading Providence to victory were Lindsey Nolan and Delanie Hill. Nolan dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Hill went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. The contest was Hill's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marlee Whitten, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Providence's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cuthbertson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Providence will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Cuthbertson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sun Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
