After three games on the road, Perham is heading back home. They will take on the Detroit Lakes Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Perham's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 19 matchups.
Last Friday, Perham strolled past Frazee with points to spare, taking the game 64-45. Given Perham's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Frazee is ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Willow Thiel and Kaia Anderson were among the main playmakers for Perham as the former dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds and the latter scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Thiel is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cora Grismer, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Detroit Lakes was beaten by Albany 68-28 on Saturday. Detroit Lakes has not had much luck with Albany recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perham is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Detroit Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
Perham strolled past Detroit Lakes when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 50-34. Does Perham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Detroit Lakes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
