Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring seven in the fourth quarter to seal a 39-12 victory over
Coffee (Douglas, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a
J.j. Green touchdown run in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 32-6 at the half.
Camden County saw its 26-point halftime lead fall to 20 entering the fourth.
With the win CC extended its winning streak to six games. The Kingsland school defeated the Wildcats 43-6 last week.
The Wildcats' most effective player was Green. The senior halfback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
The Trojans came in giving up 14.0 points per game this season. Coffee struggled against Camden County, which came in averaging 48.2 points per game. CC went into the matchup giving up only 5.0 points per game. CHS's 12 points were well below its season average of 29.0 per game.
The loss comes after Coffee defeated Tift County 24-7 last week. The loss snapped the Douglas school's 2-game winning streak.
Camden County (6-0) goes up against Tift County in a AAAAAA Region 1 game matchup next week, while Coffee (4-2) locks horns with Brunswick also in a AAAAAA Region 1 game.
