The Wheatmore Warriors will square off against the Gray Stone Day Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Wheatmore made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Salisbury, but still couldn't quite topple them. Wheatmore was the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Salisbury on Thursday.
Emma Carter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Carter was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Wheatmore got a massive performance out of Maddie Nichols, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Nichols a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Arielle Turgeon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Wheatmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salisbury only posted an OBP of .458.
Meanwhile, everything went Gray Stone Day's way against Forest Hills on Thursday as Gray Stone Day made off with an 18-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
Like Wheatmore, Gray Stone Day also got a great game from a two-way player: Helen Klauder. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Klauder was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Gray Stone Day let Isabella Shulenberger and Lindsey Stirewalt run wild. Shulenberger went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Stirewalt scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Currie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Wheatmore back to even at 1-1. As for Gray Stone Day, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
