Basketball Recap: Lab University Prep National Piles Up the Points Against Greater Cabarrus S

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lab University Prep National). They blew past the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions 65-25 on Friday. Given the Kings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Stallions are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Lab University Prep National to victory were Mia Minshall and Kali Dancy. Minshall dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, while Dancy went 13 of 27 on her way to 30 points. Dancy's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Green, who posted five points.

Lab University Prep National's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lab University Prep National will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Legion Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. After both having extra time off, Greater Cabarrus S and Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Greater Cabarrus S is facing Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
