San Gabriel Academy has enjoyed a seven-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against Calvary Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Gabriel Academy will be strutting in after a win while Calvary Chapel will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, San Gabriel Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Magnolia Science Academy 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for San Gabriel Academy as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Javier Lemus and
Esteban Piedra, who scored.
Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 6-1 walloping at the hands of Magnolia Science Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Calvary Chapel has suffered yet this season.
San Gabriel Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Calvary Chapel, they now have a losing record at 5-6-3.
