Chippewa Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past the Northville Mustangs with a 54-50 victory. Given the Big Reds' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chippewa Valley can attribute much of their success to Cassidy Sanders, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Brandon Bellante was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Chippewa Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Chippewa Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Northville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Chippewa Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-48 victory against Adams on the 7th. As for Northville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-40 loss against Clarkston on the 13th.
