Fisher is 1-8 against Heyworth since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fisher Bunnies will head out on the road to challenge the Heyworth Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Fisher is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Fisher, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-34 loss to Tremont. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fisher in their matchups with Tremont: they've now lost four in a row.
Fisher's loss came about despite a quality game from Melina Luyando, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jenna Clemmons, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Heyworth's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. The contest between them and St. Teresa wasn't particularly close, with Heyworth falling 49-34. While losing is never fun, Heyworth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while St. Teresa is ranked 150th).
Fisher has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. As for Heyworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-22.
Fisher might still be hurting after the 47-27 loss they got from Heyworth in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Fisher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
