Haleigh Harvey and Frida Rodriguez did some serious damage despite the final result: Harvey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs, while Rodriguez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Maria De Jesus Ramirez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, South Tahoe got the win against Wooster on Thursday by a conclusive 19-2.
South Tahoe got a massive performance out of Micheala Irvin, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Samantha Ebright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
South Tahoe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in nine consecutive contests.
South Tahoe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.4 runs over those games. As for Hug, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hug has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .568. However, it's not like South Tahoe struggles in that department as they've averaged .514. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hug suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to South Tahoe in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
