Wapakoneta is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Celina is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wapakoneta Redskins will take on the Celina Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wapakoneta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last five contests.
Last Friday, Wapakoneta got themselves on the board against Bath, but Bath never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 38-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Wapakoneta, who have now won six games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Wapakoneta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Knous, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Caleb Moyer was another key contributor, rushing for eight yards and a touchdown.
Wapakoneta's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Jayden Rampulla and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Celina got themselves on the board against Defiance on Friday, but Defiance never followed suit. They enjoyed a cozy 17-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Their wins bumped Wapakoneta to 7-2 and Celina to 8-1.
Wapakoneta didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Celina when the teams last played back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 28-22 win. Does Wapakoneta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Celina turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
