Even though the Knightdale Knights have not done well against the Millbrook Wildcats recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Knightdale sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 win over Millbrook. The win was all the more spectacular given Knightdale's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Millbrook is ranked 22nd).
Jason Dickerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jadon Williams, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Millbrook still got an impressive performance from Colt Langdon, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Langdon is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Alonzo Hester was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Knightdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Millbrook, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-7.
Knightdale will head out on the road to take on Wakefield at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66 points per game this season. As for Millbrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Forest is coming into the game with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Millbrook will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
