New Prairie (New Carlisle, Ind.) notched 14 points on top of its 48-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against LaVille (Lakeville, Ind.) 62-0.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Tyler Weller in the first quarter, the Cougars were up 34-0 at the half.
New Prairie grew its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. NP scored two times in the third, including once on a
Chad Swain touchdown run.
With the win the New Carlisle school extended its winning streak to eight games. New Prairie defeated Glenn 56-0 last week.
The Cougars went into the matchup giving up only 6.0 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 48-0 win for New Prairie.
The defeat comes as a step back for LaVille, who notched a 31-12 victory over Triton in its previous outing.
LaVille (4-4) will play a Northern State game against Culver Community next week, while New Prairie (8-0) will take on Knox also in a Northern State game.
