The Rowland Hall Winged Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Maeser Prep Academy by a score of 43-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rowland Hall in their matchups with Maeser Prep Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Maeser Prep Academy was led to victory by Eleanor Hamberger and Autumn Dossey. Hamberger scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Dossey scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dossey hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Octavia Mosher was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 17 rebounds.
Rowland Hall's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Maeser Prep Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rowland Hall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Maeser Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Tintic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Tintic is ranked 128th, while Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 125th).
