Patrick County and Chatham are an even 3-3 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Patrick County will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Patrick County came out on top against Radford on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Cougars took their matchup against the Bobcats 8-3.
Jenna Woods made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Woods was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Journey Moore was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Hazelwood, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Chatham didn't have quite enough to beat Dan River on Friday and fell 4-3. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chatham saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Doss, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Patrick County's record now sits at 15-3. As for Chatham, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Patrick County got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Chatham by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
