Highland Tech had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 10-8 to make it five. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Gaston Warriors. Even if the Rams couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Lily Messick led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Prudence Hammond, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
As for East Gaston, their record is now 14-5. They haven't had any issues with Highland Tech recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
On East Gaston's side, Madi Perrigo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Perrigo has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Lexi Wheeler was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Kendra Anderson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Highland Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Gaston, they have already played their next contest, a 17-1 win against Stuart W. Cramer on the 28th.
