Lake Norman Charter is 0-10 against East Rowan since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Knights will challenge the Mustangs. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lake Norman Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against West Henderson by a score of 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
Trevor Cook made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Lake Norman Charter is undefeated when Cook allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Cook was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Cook wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braden Wilkie, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three hits gave Wilkie a new career-high. Another was Janson Kane, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday East Rowan sidestepped Carson for a 2-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Cougars since March 29, 2023.
Like Lake Norman Charter, East Rowan also got a great game from a two-way player: Harrison Ailshie. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Ailshie has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
East Rowan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carson struck out ten times.
East Rowan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Norman Charter, their record is now 13-10.
Lake Norman Charter might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from East Rowan in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
