It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Belvidere North had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Thunder, who have now won 21 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Ava Morris, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Dixon off the board. Morris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Isabelle Schadle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alexa Norgard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Belvidere North is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Dixon, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
As of now, neither Belvidere North nor the Dukes & Duchesses have any future games scheduled.
