Kearsley hasn't had much luck against Goodrich recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hornets will head out to face off against the Martians at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Kearsley let Imlay City stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Kearsley prevailed anyway. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 6-5.

Chase Tobias was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kearsley is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Tobias was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aiden Tipton and Keegan Roesner did most of the damage at the plate: Tipton went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Roesner went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Tipton has become a key player for Kearsley: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-10 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Goodrich had just enough and edged out Port Huron 4-3 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Martians.
Brady Bazsler tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Goodrich's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cross Darby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Goodrich's record now sits at 20-6. As for Kearsley, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Kearsley might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Goodrich in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
