Football Recap: Roncalli Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roncalli had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 31-27 W over the Yorktown Tigers. The win was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Roncalli's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Ash, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 218 yards and one TD on only 16 passes. That's the most passing yards Ash has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Jarvis, who gained 201 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Roncalli was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Yorktown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Tokar, who threw for 293 yards and three TDs. Nate Luzadder handled things on the ground, rushing for 88 yards.

Roncalli's record is now 10-3. As for Yorktown, they moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Roncalli will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Hills at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Royals will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Yorktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
