Twin Valley recap October 1, 2013
Centralia/Wetmore added to the longest winning streak in Twin Valley this week by beating Onaga, 64-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
The Buffaloes fell to Centralia/Wetmore 64-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Wyatt Cordell was a bright spot for Onaga, as he ran for 104 yards in the defeat.
Logan Woodyard made the biggest impact on defense this week as Valley Heights lost to Washington County. The 5-foot-6 freshman grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Cole Thompson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers topped the Mustangs. Thompson tallied 9 receptions for 96 yards. Andrew Tiemeyer helped Washington County's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 62 yards.
Washington County's Konner Penning and Thompson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Penning has thrown for 507 yards this season, while Thompson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 18 catches for 219 yards. Larry Glatzak's team's Sam Steinlage leads the league in rushing yards with 550.
An important game coming up in Twin Valley this week will be when Valley Heights takes on the Panthers. As it stands, Tony Trimble's team is in third, while Centralia/Wetmore is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Mustangs and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Valley Heights comes in having scored 123 this season, while Centralia/Wetmore has scored 179. The Mustangs scored 20 points last week as they lost to Daniel Vaughn's team.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Mike Wilhelm's team. J.T. Rosine threw for 27 yards and ran for 116 yards in the win.
