The Lookout Valley Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berean Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lookout Valley in their matchups with Berean Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Austen Harvey was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points for Berean Academy. The contest was Harvey's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Barret Hasley was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lookout Valley bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Berean Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lookout Valley and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Berean Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cedar View Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar View Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Berean Academy is ranked 158th).
